bennipierce I'm a technophile, a pizza maker, and a lover of small dogs. I favor the Beatles to the Stones, a White Russian to a Rum and Coke, and a Hatchback to a Hummer. Amusement parks are my addiction, and resurrected comic book characters are my bane. I grew up in Jersey (which explains a lot) and I ended up in Burbank (which explains the rest.)

I've worked in the industry since I graduated from Hampshire College in 2002. I moved to New York City and joined up with Fountainhead Films. I learned a lot while I was there, working on features, commercials, and more.

During that time, I also co-founded Misplaced Planet Productions, a production company specializing in Shorts and Web Series Development . The first season of our most recent web series, "Hell Froze Over," was accepted into the 2009 New York Television Festival, and we are working towards a second season currently.

In 2009, I moved to LA to further my career, hoping to work in the TV and feature film industry as an Editor or Director, though I'm always happy to get my hands dirty shooting or designing animations. I'm flexible, easy going, and always willing to work hard. Not to mention I'm probably gonna end up being cheaper than most other guys with my skill set.

In 2010, I worked as the Co-Editor / Animator / Music Mixer / and Digital Compositor on "Never Sleep Again," a 4-hour documentary looking at the entire history of the "Nightmare on Elm Street" franchise. With over 100 interviews shot and thousands of photos catalogued, it's easily the most comprehensive documentary to date on the subject, following New Line Cinema from its inception all the way through its absortion into Time Warner.

In 2011, I was lucky enough to edit two more great projects - the first was a feature length drama entitled "The Trouble with the Truth," starring Lea Thompson and John Shea. It's currently looking for a festival debut. The second was a documentary for the A&E Bio Channel, entitled "Inside Story: Scream," in which we took a very close look at the first "Scream" movie with new interviews from cast and crew.
